Documental Cinema Festival in memoriam of Atanas Kiriakov
Pinacoteca.Aparat | London | September 2025

A three-part documentary film and exhibition series confronting erased or silenced chapters of Bulgaria’s modern history — from anti-totalitarian resistance and artistic exile to scientific dissent under communism. Each event is both testimony and act of remembering.

Dedicated to filmmaker Atanas Kiriakov (1939–2025), whose uncompromising work chronicled freedom, exile, and truth.
With the kind support of Ars Digital Studio.

Here you can explore our current projects, programmes of concepts, and portfolio.

May ‘25: Clocharium no.8: Coins of Aparat | Sylloge Nummorum Thracorum

This eighth issue of our in-house Clocharium magazine marks a rare moment - the quiet unveiling of one of the most remarkable private collections of Thracian coins, the kind more often entombed in the shadowy vaults of Swiss banks than shared with the public.

Under the curation of vldr.vldrm, and briefly on view at Pinacoteca.Aparat, this edition presents a catalog of 19 ancient and medieval coins, each carrying a weight of artistic and historical resonance.

The collection has been made available through the generosity of its owners, who prefer to remain unnamed. We are grateful for the trust and the opportunity to share it - briefly, and in silence.

Printed in a single copy, Clocharium No.8 is among the rarest publications of its kind. It is available for consultation by request and appointment only, but the door is open to all who are genuinely curious.

If you find yourself at Pinacoteca.Aparat, Japanese or Indian tea will be waiting.

Visits by invitation only. Inquiries: pinacoteca.aparat@gmail.com

Jan. ‘25: Aparat.newsletter is out! This newsletter is all about building our Aparat community. Every month, I share my projects, photos, and other works on a public board tucked away on a street in North London and through email - so you can be part of the conversation wherever you are. Thank you to everyone who has joined and responded so far; your support is what makes this community special!

Interested in joining? Just send me a note at pinacoteca.aparat@gmail.com - I’d be glad to have you with us.
